Inspeed sprang to life in 2004 (thereabouts), the result of a popular Hand-Held anemometer design that evolved into many variants over the years.

Inspeed's mission is to design, manufacture, and provide exceptional support for affordable, world class anemometers. 

We pride ourselves in developing customized solutions for wind speed and direction sensors and related technologies, designed to meet the specific needs of our customers - at prices that can't be beat.

We have 10's of thousands of units in the field, we ship worldwide, and our warranty rate is a fraction of 1 percent.  Much of our growth is from repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals - and all our products are MADE IN THE USA (except the displays, which come from Japan).

The photo on the left is where it all began:  a 2002 prototype handheld anemometer with a paint roller handle into a transparent Lexan head - so the head could fold flat, as they still do today - and a bicycle speedometer mounted to a tube that had a 10:1 pulse divider in it.  The divider was there to cut down the pulse rate for the display - but it proved unnecessary.  The resulting "production" version is on the right.  That evolved a whole range of anemometers that we make and sell today.  And yes, we know that many of these early units are still in use today!
